Playoff Rules and Reminders
Schedule
The playoffs are divided into different categories, each with its own timeline:
- Start Date: 4 weeks before the end of the league
Recreational Division: Monday, August 4th - Duration: 4 weeks.
Monday Recreational 6’s: August 4th – August 25th
Tuesday Recreational 6’s: August 5th – August 26th
Wednesday Recreational 6’s: August 6th – August 27th
Thursday Recreational 6’s: August 7th – August 28th
Friday Recreational 6’s: August 8th – August 22nd
- Start Date: 3 weeks before the end of the league
Competitive Division: Monday, August 11th - Duration: 3 weeks.
Dates:
Monday Competitive: August 11th – August 25th
Tuesday Competitive: August 12th – August 26th
Thursday Competitive: August 14th – August 28th
The 3 weeks duration also involves the Juniors and Other Categories.
Qualification
To qualify for the playoffs, each team must participate in a total number of regular-league games (80%). The top teams will qualify for the playoff.
Recreational
- The top 24 teams qualify for the playoffs.
Competitive
- The top 8 teams qualify for the playoffs.
Other Categories
- Similar to the competitive category, the top 8 teams qualify.
Tie-Breaker
Scenario:
If two or more teams have the same points for qualification:
- The team that has played more games will qualify.

CEDAR BEACH RECREATIONAL PLAYOFF PLAN
Week 1: First Round (3 on 3)
– The top 24 teams will be divided into 8 groups of 3 teams each.
– Matches will be played using a 3 on 3 format, with standard rules applying.
– Match ups

Team 3 vs Team 14 vs Team 19
Team 4 vs Team 13 vs Team 20
Team 5 vs Team 12 vs Team 21
Team 6 vs Team 11 vs Team 22
Team 7 vs Team 10 vs Team 23
Team 8 vs Team 9 vs Team 24
Week 2 and 3: Quarter Finals and Semi Finals (2 vs 2)
– The top teams from each group in the first round will advance to the quarter finals.
– The remaining 8 teams will be matched up randomly
– Quarter final matches will be played using a 2 vs 2 format.
– The winners of the quarter final matches will advance to the semi finals.
– The semi final matches will also be played in a 2 vs 2 format.
– The winners of the semi final matches will proceed to the finals.
– All playoff games are best 2 out of 3 games. NOT best of 5.
Week 4: Finals
– The championship match will take place during the third week.
– The two teams that emerged victorious from the semi finals will compete against each other in a thrilling 1 vs 1 showdown.
– The winners of this final match will be crowned the champions.
– All playoff games are best 2 out of 3 games. NOT best of 5.

Week 1 and 2: Quarter Finals and Semi Finals (2 vs 2)
– The top 8 teams from each group will qualify for the quarter finals.
– Quarter final matches will be played using a 2 vs 2 format.

– The winners of the quarter final matches will advance to the semi finals.
– The semi final matches will also be played in a 2 vs 2 format.
– The winners of the semi final matches will proceed to the finals.
– All playoff games are best 2 out of 3 games. NOT best of 5.
Week 3: Finals
– The championship match will take place during the second week.
– The two teams that emerged victorious from the semi finals will compete against each other in a thrilling 1 vs 1 showdown.
– The winners of this final match will be crowned the champions.
– All playoff games are best 2 out of 3 games. NOT best of 5.

– Regardless of playoff status, regular League games will still go on.
